Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension - Kirkland, WA, USA Speechify is hiring a Tech Lead for Web Core Product & Chrome Extension. This full‑time role is based in Kirkland and is part of Speechify’s frontend hiring. The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text‑to‑speech products to turn any content—PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites—into audio so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify’s products include an iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome Extension, and Web app. Speechify is a flat organization with a fully distributed team of ~200 people. The product, engineering, and AI teams include professionals from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stripe, Vercel, Bolt, and others. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast‑paced environments, is passionate about making product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users. Work ethic, solid communication skills, and an obsession with winning are paramount. Our interview process includes several technical interviews and is typically completed within a week. What You’ll Do Actively ship production code to the web products. Work closely with a dedicated product team. Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap. Have the opportunity to work on new and exciting features that will impact millions of lives. An Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience building and shipping products that have scaled to thousands or millions of users. Customer obsession: passionate about the field and a desire to build high‑quality products that serve customer needs. Collaboration: ability to inspire, negotiate, and work with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs. Technical skills in Vanilla JavaScript, ReactJS, Redux, Firebase, and TypeScript.
