We are looking for a Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for an engineering-focused organization. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented finance specialist who can manage the full accounting cycle, maintain accurate financial records, and support project-based reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to keep payables, receivables, and reconciliations running smoothly in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete bookkeeping function, including maintaining the general ledger and ensuring financial data is recorded accurately and on time.

• Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and monitor outstanding obligations to keep accounts payable current and organized.

• Prepare customer billing, post incoming payments, and follow up on open balances to support healthy accounts receivable performance.

• Reconcile bank statements and key balance sheet accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and maintain reliable records.

• Support project-based accounting activities by tracking costs, reviewing job-related financial details, and assisting with reporting for engineering work.

• Utilize accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct and Deltek Ajera to maintain financial information, generate reports, and improve visibility into business performance.

• Partner with operational and project stakeholders to monitor budgets, review spending, and help align financial activity with project expectations.

• Produce routine financial reports and assist leadership with information needed for planning, oversight, and decision-making.

• Demonstrated experience handling full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting responsibilities in a hands-on finance role.

• Practical knowledge of Deltek Ajera software is REQUIRED.

• Background managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable with a high degree of accuracy.

• Experience performing bank reconciliations and maintaining dependable financial records.

• Understanding of project accounting principles, preferably within an engineering, construction, or project-driven business environment.
