Responsible for performing basic accounting functions within various specialized Revenue Accounting areas. What you'll do Performs basic accounting functions (e.g. audit accounting data, refund claims, process/calculate check requests, debit/credit memos, journal vouchers, etc.) for various Revenue Accounting areas (e.g. payments received, billings, tickets issued/used, etc.) Researches and resolves accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, including correspondence with external contacts, when necessary Completes data entry of accounting information Edits/audits daily passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests Distributes and stores month end closing statistics reports Performs a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor/manager to aid in the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience High School diploma or GED Equivalency Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field or equivalent training/experience Airline/travel agency accounting experience Skills, Licenses & Certifications Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of general accounting principles/procedures Excellent organizational skills Ability to effectively handle multiple projects with minimal supervision Logical, analytical thinking ability What you'll get Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
