OPENING DATE: January 1, 2009 CLOSING DATE: Continuous Examples Of Duties Teach relevant social and daily living skills, provide supportive counseling. Participate as a team member in client evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of approved treatment plans. Serve as a client advocate and assist clients in using community resources. All the above activities will be supervised by a Psychiatric Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Psychologist or a Psychiatrist. Typical Qualifications These are entrance requirements to the examination process and assure neither continuance in the process nor placement on an eligible list. EDUCATION, TRAINING, And EXPERIENCE Two (2) years experience as a Senior Psychiatric Technician or equivalent, direct patient care in a mental health setting. Certain positions may require specific specialized experience. Substitution One (1) year of the experience requirement may be met by substituting a Bachelor's degree in Social-Behavioral Sciences including psychology, social work, or sociology. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S) Requires the handling of medication and therefore, requires a valid Psychiatric Technician (PT), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License.
