ROLE SUMMARY

\n

Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Human Resources Business Partner to support its people strategy and day-to-day employee relations needs. This role is intentionally structured as a senior individual contributor / HR business partner.

\n

\n

The Senior HRBP will serve as the in-house lead for employee relations, performance management, employee retention and experience, manager and employee development, HR policy and handbook maintenance, subcontractor relationship issues, and day-to-day HR guidance. This role will provide internal oversight, employee support, and vendor coordination.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n
• Serve as the primary in-house resource for employee relations matters, team member concerns, workplace issues, and day-to-day HR guidance.
\n
• Coach managers through employee relations situations, performance concerns, documentation, corrective action, and difficult conversations.
\n
• Own the performance management process from start to finish, including goal setting, review cycles, performance improvement, documentation, and follow-through.
\n
• Drive employee retention and employee experience efforts through regular feedback, manager partnership, development planning, and proactive issue identification.
\n
• Support the continued growth and development of managers and employees through coaching, training, leadership development, and practical people-management tools.
\n
• Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and related procedures; communicate changes clearly across the organization.
\n
• Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements, including needs associated with a multi-state workforce.
\n
• Oversee the internal side of outsourced payroll and benefits administration, including vendor coordination, issue escalation, employee communication, and process accuracy.
\n
• Maintain awareness of benefits programs and serve as an internal point of contact for employee questions and escalations, while external partners handle administration.
\n
• Partner with internal leaders on subcontractor and contractor relationship issues, classification questions, and people-related concerns.
\n
• Help ensure accurate HR records, documentation, personnel files, and HR system data.
\n
• Partner with the HR Coordinator on the employee lifecycle while allowing the coordinator to continue leading much of the candidate interviewing and onboarding work.
\n
• Coach and develop the HR Coordinator, expand their capabilities, and create clear ownership across the HR function.
\n
• Identify recurring people issues, process gaps, and opportunities to strengthen HR operations and the employee experience.
\n
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, consistency, and sound judgment.

QUALIFICATIONS

\n

\n
• Demonstrated progressive human resources experience with meaningful responsibility for employee relations and performance management.
\n
• Strong working knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, policy administration, and employment compliance.
\n
• Proven ability to coach managers and employees through sensitive or complex people situations.
\n
• Experience developing or improving HR processes, policies, systems, or programs.
\n
• Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-moving environment.
\n
• Clear, professional communication skills and strong active-listening ability.
\n
• High degree of discretion and judgment when handling confidential information.
\n
• Experience with benefits and/or payroll oversight or vendor partnership is preferred.
\n
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce is preferred.
\n
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.
\n
• Experience with HR systems is preferred; prior experience with Odoo and/or Paylocity is a plus.

• This role is expected to work on-site in Curtis Bay, Maryland.

• The position will work closely with company leadership, managers, employees, the HR Coordinator, and external payroll/benefits partners.
