HVAC Mechanical EngineerThis engineering position integrates the process of document production with a more detailed understanding of systems and systems components. This position can expect exposure to HVAC and Plumbing design along with calculations, specifications, and an expanded understanding of codes with a continuum advanced practice of three-dimensional Revit system design and production of ductwork and piping systems. This role will have the ability to take small to medium sized projects from conception to final design with little input from a senior engineer.The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually.A Bachelor's degree or higher education in Mechanical Engineering or related field5+ years of job related experienceLicensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain by comity) in the state of the hiring Cushing Terrell officeProficient in Autodesk MEP Revit, Auto CADD, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft OfficeAbility to design an HVAC or Plumbing system with high standard of quality from start to finish with minimal guidanceProficient in design of most industry standard HVAC systems, such as VAV systems, VRF systems, Heat Pumps and Package rooftop systemsExperience with design of hydronic piping, pump selection, duct sizing and fan selectionExperience with Heating and Cooling Load calculation softwareExperience with Plumbing designKnowledge and application of Mechanical and Plumbing Building CodesExperience writing specifications for mechanical projectsAbility to collaborate with peers and drafters to produce high quality construction documents for large projectsAbility to provide a high level of client serviceUnderstanding of all HVAC / Plumbing systems and their advantages, disadvantages, costs, and efficienciesDid you know that some people hold back on applying to jobs if they don't meet 100% of the listed requirements? If you check most of the qualifications above and believe you could successfully do the work, we encourage you to apply!Work with a team of Architects and Engineers to create quality construction documents for our clientsDevelop initial concepts with or without collaboration of other engineersConsult with client to determine needs, wants, and designs systems to meet predetermined budgetsConduct site assessments, and analysis to produce building engineering reports and recommendations for improvement of building HVAC and plumbing systemsPrepare preliminary budget and/or cost estimate for projectsRepresent Cushing Terrell in project meetings and assist in strategy meetings, etc.Prepare scale drawings and contract documents for clients and contractorsConduct on-site observation of work during construction to monitor plan compliance, including administration of addendums, substitutions, change orders, and review submittalsCushing Terrell is a multidisciplinary design firm with 17 offices and more than 500 team members who bring together their expertise to deliver holistic built environments.
