Facility MaintenanceTo ensure an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors, performing a variety of special cleaning operations; preparing facilities for daily operations, classroom activities and campus events; and ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.Essential FunctionsCleans and patrols assigned facilities and/or grounds (ex: classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.Replenishes and maintains supplies and equipment (ex: cleaning solutions, paper products, soap, vacuums, mops, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities required to properly clean and maintain facilities.Inspects facility safety and secures facilities and grounds (ex: doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, supplies and equipment loss and/or potential liability.Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (ex: facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.Identifying and performing minor, job related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures (ex: replace bulbs, change damaged ceiling tiles, pencil sharpeners, vacuum cleaner, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper functioning and usability of items.Assists with a variety of training and drills with students and staff (ex: fire, intruder, earthquake, health and safety, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that emergency procedures are in order, alarm systems are operational and/or established procedures are effective.Flexible work hours to work after school activities as needed.Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.Physical RequirementsThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following require the following physical demands: significant lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
