Bilingual Dutch (Belgium) PhD Scientist for AI Safety

Role Overview

Use your PhD-level scientific expertise to help improve the safety of advanced AI models handling specialized technical topics in Belgian Dutch. You will assess and strengthen responses involving scientific subject matter, with training provided for the evaluation workflow. Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create expert-level prompts in Belgian Dutch across specialized scientific subjects.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, usefulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive content.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Use scientific judgment to improve how models address technical topics in Dutch as spoken in Belgium.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, completed or in progress.
• Ability to develop prompts spanning chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear subject areas.
• Native or near-native Belgian Dutch fluency and business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with current laboratory and computational techniques in your specialty.
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Chemistry-based experience relevant to radiological or nuclear topics, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
• Demonstrated depth in a focused specialty, such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical material.

Work Terms

• Hourly engagement.
• Immediate start.
• This role is focused specifically on the Belgian variety of Dutch.

Compensation

• 61 to 65 per hour.

• You must currently be based in Belgium.
