Travel RN - Med/Surg - OncologyAmerican TravelerFargo, North Dakota, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: RotatingLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,455.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a Level 1 trauma center, requiring 2 years of recent large hospital experience and an active ND or Compact RN license.DetailsAcute care Med Surg Oncology unit across 6S (16 inpatient oncology beds) and 7S (12 inpatient hematology/bone marrow transplant beds)Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 for chemotherapy or BMT patients and 1:4-5 for regular oncology patients, 1:4-6 on nightsDay/Night rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday requiredNo on-call requirements and will not work aloneFloating required to other Med Surg units at Broadway with potential floating to other Fargo Med Surg units at Med Center or SouthUses EPIC EMR, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and zebra phonesRequirementsActive ND or Compact RN license requiredActive BLS certification through AHA requiredMinimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)Experience in a busy Level 1 trauma center requiredEPIC EMR experience requiredInpatient oncology experience preferred; hematology and bone marrow transplant experience a bonusTravel nursing experience highly preferredChemotherapy administration certification a plus if trainedAdditional InformationCare for medically complex hematology/oncology patients requiring blood products, antibiotics, and symptom/side effect managementPerform head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team while updating patients and familiesUnit is currently in process of remodeling to add 12 more beds on 7SOrientation includes 8 hours of classroom training followed by 24-36 hours of unit-specific trainingNavy blue scrubs requiredAll clinicians must badge in and out at the facilityCandidates who previously worked for this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submissionLocal candidates considered within 60-80 miles of the facility at a reduced rate; candidates within 60 miles are not eligibleHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
