About the Role

The Company is seeking an experienced Chief Accounting Officer-level consultant to enhance the accounting practices, financial reporting, and operational controls of its retail electricity business. The successful candidate will be the primary technical resource for retail electricity accounting, responsible for establishing a documented control structure, recommending updates to the parent company's account structure, and coaching the Accounting Manager. This role requires a professional with a substantial background in retail power accounting, capable of both strategic insight and detailed execution, and who can address a range of issues from advising on control structures to resolving specific accounting problems. Applicants must have a proven track record in retail electricity accounting, with a focus on establishing control structures and translating GAAP requirements into financial practices. Comprehensive knowledge of the retail electricity lifecycle across multiple markets, including regulatory requirements and banking arrangements, is essential. The role involves direct assistance with various financial processes, coordination with independent auditors, and the ability to produce accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a practical approach, strong Excel skills, and experience with accounting software. An undergraduate degree in a related discipline is desirable, and previous experience in a project-based advisory role is advantageous.
