This leader is primarily responsible for ensuring the accounting and operations functions are working accurately and efficiently, as well as are aligned to our policies for revenue recognition./ppAs an individual contributor, responsibilities include working with the business unit marketers, product managers, Finance, and IT teams to understand business strategy, systems roadmaps, and end-to-end offering requirements to provide technical revenue guidance and ensure proper systemic and manual revenue accounting. This is a highly visible and exciting role in the Finance controllership group in service to accurate revenue recognition and financial statements while supporting Intuits overall growth./ppThe ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate and lead across multiple functions and roles, ability to translate technical literature and accounting/company policy into clear requirements for execution, strong change management skills, and ability to drive issues through to resolution./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliUnderstand the end-to-end operational, financial, and systemic environment and key upstream and downstream processes that drive financial and customer impacts. Drive strategy to support revenue recognition, new offerings, and business changes./liliDevelop, maintain, and enforce the Companys revenue recognition policy under ASC 606, developing new positions and interpretations as needed. Stay connected to current business and offering strategies./liliPerform technical accounting research./liliClearly articulate point of view regarding revenue issues. Use strong communication skills to inspire confidence in decisions and provide transparency as to status and trade-offs, with the ability to bridge between accounting, technical, and business mindsets with ease./liliStay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements and updates under prevailing regulatory bodies (FASB, SEC), incorporating into Company policy as necessary./liliApply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying revenue accounting principles./liliEstablish and maintain controls necessary to ensure that revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances, and revenue accounting execution are compliant with Company policy and GAAP./liliProactively lead and influence cross-functionally and at all levels of management. Cultivate strong relationships with leaders in Accounting, Finance, and across the business to facilitate timely, high-quality decision-making in connection with revenue recognition matters./liliDevelop training and outreach programs and deliver this training to business unit and functional team leaders./liliWork comfortably with cross functional teams and actively consult with product management, sales, and marketing personnel to ensure revenue recognition timing and process implications are understood for each offering./liliEnsure the proper accounting treatment for all product and service offerings is documented and that related accounts are properly prepared, reviewed, and substantiated./liliStreamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and classification of revenue./liliParticipate in revenue recognition due diligence activities related to potential acquisitions./li/ulpIntuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:/ppSan Diego: 124,000-167,500/ph3Qualifications/h3ulliBachelors degree in Finance/Accounting with minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience, or equivalent work experience; CPA/MBA highly desirable./liliAble to be in the San Diego office at least 3 times a week./liliStrong technical accounting and revenue knowledge for financial statements and internal controls over financial reporting. Demonstrated understanding of theory and application of relevant revenue recognition accounting literature./liliStrong end-to-end process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills. Proactively address issues, own the outcome, and continuously strive for best-in-class processes and deliverables./liliStrong interpersonal skills. Confidence, good judgment, and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally and at all levels of management./liliExcellent analytical and organizational skills, time prioritization, and risk assessment./liliProfessional skepticism and a testing/validation mindset. Background in public accounting or internal audit is a plus./liliExcellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to elevate issues to the right level internally and externally to resolve. Ability to clearly articulate a point of view and adjust communication style and content to suit audience needs./liliStrong PC, worksheet, and word processing skills.
