Make a meaningful difference for students in a supportive educational environment as a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This contract opportunity, convenient to the San Francisco area, allows you to collaborate closely with educators and therapists while helping children reach important communication milestones.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development in children
- Ability to implement individualized education plans under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Effective communication skills for working with students, caregivers, and school staff
- Organized, adaptable, and collaborative
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students as prescribed by the supervising SLP
- Assist in developing and implementing therapy activities and materials for individual and group sessions
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports
- Participate in student support team meetings and contribute to IEP process as appropriate
- Work in partnership with teachers to facilitate language-rich classroom environments
- Support generalization of targeted skills across school settings and routines
