Area Retail ManagerThis role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX.Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club is seeking an Area Retail Manager to join the Retail Department.The Area Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the year-round daily retail operation at Driftwood-creating a world-class shopping experience and providing exceptional customer service- the Area Retail Manager for Texas also supports the DLC Corporate Retail Team with sourcing and buying swag and uniforms at Maverick and Austin Surf Club. This position will also assist with property startup needs and new store openings at all Texas locations. The Area Retail Manager works alongside the Regional Retail Director and partners cross-functionally Marketing and Finance team leaders at each property to define and implement SOPs for retail and swag, train staff, plan retail events and assist with any other miscellaneous requests.Key ResponsibilitiesDriftwood:Utilize the open to buy system, Management One, to properly manage inventory & purchasing.Execute & oversee purchases including vendor communications, new account setup, logo instructions, purchase orders & order tracking.Complete purchases & update all business model components accurately in a timely manner.Collaborate with the Regional Director of Retail on custom product development & ensure all branding guidelines are adhered to for retail & marketing swag.Monitor & manage the receipt flow of PO's through On-Order maintenance & regular status updates.Work closely with accounting to develop & maintain proper SOPs for processing invoices, inventory control & AP reconciliation.Attend all required trade shows (number varies per year).Assist with sourcing & purchasing of staff uniforms, event swag & other miscellaneous projects as requested.Update & maintain all vendor contact information.Conduct monthly physical inventories for retail, & quarterly for swag stock.Maintain shrink parameters for retail & swag inventory.Monitor the sell through of best sellers & core items. Fill in as needed to maintain proper inventory levels.Responsible for receiving retail merchandise in the POS system in adherence to company standards & guidelines pertaining to category & SKU assignment, pricing & descriptions.Ensure adherence to policies for employee purchases.Work with accounting department to reconcile all receipts & outstanding issues.Ensure the store is always pristinely merchandised with frequent floor rotations & new product placed on the floor in a timely manner according toBuying Plan timelines & any special events or VIPs on property.Monitor & drive sales to meet monthly revenue budgets through building member relationships & maintaining knowledge of brands in the store & current fashion trends.Incorporate trunk shows, demo days & other promotions to expand the retail offering for members & increase revenues.Assist & service members & their guests with all retail purchases, returns & special orders ensuring proper procedures are followed for all transactions including markdowns & employee discounts.Ensure company packaging standards are upheld & implement special touches like gift wrapping & thank-you notes.Maintain a member database with retail specific information for personal buying such as brand preferences & sizes.Develop & implement retail SOP's unique to the club operation & logistics using DLC standards as a baseline.Recruit & train retail staff.Oversee scheduling of retail staff to optimize & ensure adequate shop floor coverage.Provide continuous product knowledge & customer service training.Develop & implement staff incentives for quality work & meeting sales parameters.Collaborate with Retail Operations Manager to identify & develop Managers in Training.Assist with any other duties as assigned by Director of Golf/Head Professional.Assist golf and events staff with various projects & tournament preparation.Maverick and Austin Surf Club:Plan, source and purchase marketing swagAssist with uniforms, special orders and other miscellaneous retail/swag requestsAssist with new property and store opening startup tasks as requestedSupport marketing teams on site to manage inventory and purchasing for swag.Facilitate swag purchases including vendor communications, new account setup, logo instructions, purchase orders and order tracking.Ensure purchases are within the swag budget provided.Complete swag purchases and update all business model components accurately and in a timely manner.Collaborate with the Regional Director of Retail on custom product development and ensure all branding guidelines are adhered to marketing swag.Support implementation and compliance with companywide corporate initiatives including, but not limited to, required brands.Work closely with accounting and marketing teams to develop and maintain proper SOPs for receiving deliveries, inventory control and AP reconciliation.Assist with sourcing and purchasing of staff uniforms, event swag and other miscellaneous projects as requested.Update and maintain all vendor contact informationOversee monthly physical inventories for swag.Monitor inventory levels and fill in as needed to maintain proper stock of key items.Work with the accounting department to reconcile all receipts and outstanding issues.QualificationsOne (1) to three (3) years of retail experience in a supervisory role.Previous work experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a fast paced, luxury service environment preferred.Experience with Point of Sales Systems (Jonas or TEI preferred).Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Basic knowledge of the golf/boutique/specialty retail industry as it relates to hospitality and private club retail environments.Extraordinary attention to detail, quality, and service.Ability to sell and create rapport with customers.Additional RequirementsPositive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
