About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Project Development to spearhead the origination, advancement, and execution of distributed and community-scale solar projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development pipeline from the initial stages to the Notice-to-Proceed, managing a cross-functional team, and overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. This role demands a proven leader with a strong background in renewable project development, team management, and market expansion, who can lead and scale project development activities across multiple U.S. markets. Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Project Development include building and managing high-performing teams, evaluating new market entry opportunities, and collaborating with various internal teams to ensure the alignment of technical, commercial, and execution strategies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of community and distributed-generation solar markets, expertise in electricity markets, utility programs, interconnection processes, and policy/regulatory frameworks. A strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts, the role also involves representing the organization externally and mentoring junior developers to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. A minimum of 10 years' experience in renewable energy project development, a Bachelor's degree, and an entrepreneurial mindset are required, with a preference for candidates holding an MBA, JD, or advanced technical degree.
