Security Officer

Overview The Security Officer reports to the Director of Security. Under general supervision, the Security Officer monitors and provides protection and security for facilities, premises, employees, patients and visitors. This position responds to security calls within the medical center and conducts basic investigations as well as troubleshooting the electronic visitor management system. Responsibilities Monitor and provide protection and security for facilities, premises, employees, patients and visitors. Respond to security calls within the medical center and conduct basic investigations. Troubleshoot the electronic visitor management system. Physically patrol the perimeter of the medical center and parking lot; communicate tactfully with the public. Knowledge of security methods in buildings and grounds institutions is preferred. Qualifications Education: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: At least 1 year’s experience in Security or equivalent job functions is preferred but not required. Credentials: Must be 21 years of age; Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and work indoors or outdoors; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required; latex-safe environment; ability to use respirator as required for selected positions.
