Direct Support Professional - On Campus Programs

Position Overview Devereux Massachusetts, a leading nonprofit services organization, is hiring a Direct Support/Care Professional to work with youth with complex psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders in Rutland, MA. This full‑time role offers a starting salary of $20.50/hour, rising to $23.87/hour with higher education and/or experience. Multiple schedules are available. Responsibilities Passionate about working with and helping youth. Responsible for the safety and security of all assigned youth, providing direct supervision. Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate, safe environment. Engage youth in meaningful and positive interactions, teaching appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement. Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and living skill tasks. Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reports. Benefits Sign‑on bonus $1,000. Eligible employees are eligible to start benefits after 30 days of employment. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Active driver’s license required. High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or Special Education preferred. Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex PTSD, co‑occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred but not required. Must be MAP certified or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment if working in a group home setting. Must attend a 2‑week paid orientation, Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for external candidates.
