Power & HVAC Field Service Technician - Level 2

Job Summary Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Power & HVAC Road Mechanic to prevent and correct equipment malfunctions at customer job sites, diagnosing complex equipment problems while following all safety rules, and acting as a professional representative to the customer. Responsibilities Prevent and correct equipment malfunctions at the customer job site for all types of equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), diagnosing complex equipment problems while following all safety rules. Act as a professional representative of Sunbelt Rentals with the customer. Service and oversee repairs of all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition at the job site. Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime in the field. Perform safety inspections on equipment. Maintain a safe shop work environment and company vehicle. Effectively communicate equipment issues with customers and supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction. Perform other duties assigned by the manager. Adhere to all company, governmental, and equipment‑related safety requirements. Attend and participate in all Profit Center Meetings. Night/Weekend On‑Call work required. Qualifications 1+ years of experience as a mechanic with diesel equipment. Power generation equipment experience desirable. Trade school or technical training desirable. Must have own tools. DOT Physical Examination (Medical card). Clear understanding of equipment safety and high safety consciousness. Strong communication skills and ability to understand job assignments. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Physically able to work on job sites for extensive periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Physically able to work in extreme conditions on job sites. Base Pay Range $29.77 - $42.80 per hour (starting rate may vary based on factors such as location, education, training, and experience).
