Job Type: Full-Time   |   Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Cheektowaga NY Schedule: M-F 8:00-4:30
Pay: per hour, based on experience

About the Position

Elmwood Warehousing Co., Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records, preparing paperwork, and communicating with drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and able to accurately handle shipping and receiving documentation.

Responsibilities

·         Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and product information.

·         Inspect shipments for visible damage or discrepancies.

·         Prepare and process shipping and receiving paperwork.

·         Enter shipment and inventory information into company records or computer systems.

·         Prepare bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels, and other required documentation.

·         Schedule and coordinate incoming and outgoing truck deliveries.

·         Check drivers in and provide appropriate shipping and receiving instructions.

·         Communicate with customers, carriers, and warehouse personnel regarding shipments.

·         Verify outgoing orders for accuracy before shipment.

·         Maintain organized and accurate records of shipments and inventory.

·         Assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.

·         Coordinate with forklift operators and warehouse employees to ensure shipments are loaded and unloaded correctly.

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.

·         Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse policies.

·         Perform other warehouse and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or clerical experience preferred.

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse/shipping software.

·         Ability to read and understand shipping documents and instructions.

·         Good communication and organizational skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.

·         Ability to work in a warehouse environment.

·         Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
