Mobile Crisis Clinician-Children's

SUMMARY

Provides initial evaluations, crisis intervention and symptom stabilization, emergency evaluations, care coordination, consultation and education to consumers of all ages who present with behavioral health needs. Services are coordinated with family and other professionals and may be performed in a clinic location, community sites, or homes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Screen and evaluate consumers over the telephone and in person. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and risk evaluations for harm to self or others. Complete crisis assessments within required timelines and consult with family, the police, physicians and other treatment providers. Recommend disposition, stabilization plans and the least restrictive treatment options. Facilitate involuntary or voluntary hospitalizations at the ER or in the community. Provide emergency case management until consumers are no longer in crisis. Identify and coordinate referral assistance for consumers who do not meet Gateway Healthcare, Inc. treatment program criteria. Schedule and participate in psychiatric/medication evaluations with a psychiatrist. Maintain current job knowledge of all Agency programs and access resources effectively. Coordinate and consult with ER staff, acting as liaison with the hospital and referral resources. Communicate crisis contacts to the primary clinician and physician. Attend treatment planning meetings and difficult case conferences as needed. Adhere to documentation standards in accordance with Agency policy, procedure and licensing requirements. Obtain past records to substantiate diagnoses and treatment plans. Coordinate insurance verification and necessary paperwork with Registration Staff. Schedule duties with other ES team members and modify the work schedule to remain responsive to consumers. Respond to calls on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, assess risk, coordinate referrals or emergency services, and complete documentation. Be available by pager and/or phone while on duty. Respond to consultation/evaluation requests from other departments or community partners. Participate on the GHI Community Disaster Team: assess needs, activate response, and notify management. Attend required meetings and trainings and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in counseling (MA), MSW, MFT; or LCSW, LMHC‑A, LMFT‑A or LICSW (preferred). Eligibility for “Qualified Mental Health Professional” status. Eligibility for child & family competency. At least 2 years of experience in a behavioral health setting. Basic Life Support certification.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of human development and family systems. Valid driver’s license with automobile insurance coverage. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexible work schedule for some evening and weekend coverage. Strong oral and written communication skills, including speech, grammar, spelling and legibility.

PAY RANGE

$61,422.40 – $101,337.60
