Surgery Scheduler - Neurosurgical Care

Wage Range: $26.16 - $41.82 per hour Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity. Job Summary: Responsible for scheduling all inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures with standards established by EvergreenHealth Surgical Services and EvergreenHealth Surgical Center. Responsible for obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations. Assists in other clerical duties required for the efficient operations of the clinic. Primary Duties: Schedule surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment, for surgical cases done at EvergreenHealth for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures. Work cooperatively with the schedulers at EvergreenHealth surgical facilities. Obtain insurance prior authorizations. Obtain insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicate same to patient. Perform other duties as assigned. Required for the position: High School graduate or equivalent 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology. Keyboarding: 45 words per minute.
