Emergency Medicine Locum Opportunity Indiana
A healthcare system in Indiana is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for ongoing locum coverage across multiple emergency department locations. Providers must be flexible and willing to work where coverage is needed within the system.
Compensation:
$350/hr

Schedule: Variable day, evening, and overnight shifts
Shift Length: Primarily 9-hour shifts
Approximately 30 shifts available per month
No call required
100% inpatient emergency department coverage

Level II Trauma Center
Epic EMR
Temporary privileges available
Physician and APP support model
Hospitalists manage admissions with specialty consultation as needed
Patient Volume
Approximately patients per physician per day
Average of 2 patients per hour
Annual ED volume exceeds 45,000 visits
298-bed hospital
Clinical Responsibilities
Emergency Department evaluation and treatment
Trauma care
Stroke and STEMI patient management
Adult and pediatric emergency medicine cases
Collaboration with specialty consultants
Required Procedures
Candidates must be able to perform and provide recent procedure logs for:
Endotracheal Intubation
Central Venous Catheter Placement
Lumbar Puncture
Thoracentesis
Paracentesis
Suprapubic Bladder Aspiration
Breast Cyst Aspiration
Nasal Hemostatic Packing (Anterior and Posterior)
Moderate Sedation
Requirements
MD or DO
ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
Active DEA
Indiana license (or willingness to obtain)
Stroke certification required
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to cover 5 7 consecutive days at a time
Flexible scheduling availability
Clean malpractice history
Additional Information
Providers may be scheduled at multiple emergency department locations within the health system.
Full specialty backup is available.
Burns, select complex pediatric cases, and certain hand cases may be transferred when appropriate.
Credentialing timeline is approximately 90 days.
