Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to patients and their families. This role emphasizes both independent and collaborative nursing functions, adhering to standards and competencies specific to the Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Post Partum service area. The RN's scope of practice encompasses care for neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults throughout their life cycle.

The RN will execute the Standards of Nursing Practice, which include:

• Assessment
• Nursing diagnosis
• Outcome identification
• Planning
• Implementation
• Evaluation

The RN is responsible for developing and revising patient care plans, coordinating care among various disciplines, and delegating activities to other care providers as necessary. Active participation in shared accountability and decision-making processes for nursing practices is essential. The RN contributes to defining, implementing, and improving practice standards and fostering a remarkable care environment.

Specific duties may vary based on assigned units and may include specialized clinical skills expected of the RN. Relevant skill sets will be outlined according to unit-based expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Proficient in postpartum and newborn care
• Experience in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Ability to circulate during cesarean sections
• Experience with newborns, adolescents, and adults
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system
• Current certifications in BLS, AWHONN, and NRP
• STABLE certification is highly preferred
• Fetal monitoring (EFM) experience is also highly preferred

Work Schedule

This position requires rotating shifts, including both days and nights, with guaranteed hours on a weekly basis. Weekend work will be required every other weekend.
