Graduate Nurse (PCU) - part time, nights - Mercy Jefferson

Position Details Cardiac Med Intermediate GN 12 hours per week, nights Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, MO 63028 We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Our unit is an intermediate level of care between ICU and med/surg, focusing primarily on cardiac patients and acute respiratory conditions. Responsibilities Use the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of licensed prescribers or a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintain professional accountability for the care of assigned patients. Coordinate patient care in collaboration with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Manage patients with cardiac conditions, respiratory distress, and septic shock. Provide care for patients who are too sick for the floor but not yet ICU level, allowing for high‑flow oxygen or BiPAP as needed. Support a fast‑paced unit that blends elements of emergency and critical care. Qualifications Required education: Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school. License: Current RN license in our state or obtainable within 90 days. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association and IV certification within one year.
