Registered Nurse, Outpatient Psychiatry, Per Diem

Position Summary The registered nurse adheres to the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. The role includes nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum. The registered nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality and fiscal patient care outcomes using the model of care designed by the nursing department and in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of practice. Position Information Position : Registered Nurse Department : Outpatient Psychiatry Schedule : Per Diem Essential Responsibilities / Duties Provide direct patient care in a per diem capacity, maintaining professional standards of nursing practice. Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions, evaluation, and coordination of care for admitted patients. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health‑care team, patients, and families to ensure optimal outcomes. Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. Education Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years, if not already attained. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts in good standing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required for certain units. Additional certifications may be required for specific practice areas. Knowledge And Skills Basic computer proficiency, including ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data and information. Effective interpersonal skills for communication with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Organizational skills to prioritize and complete assigned work efficiently. Multilingual abilities beyond English are preferred for certain patient populations. Relevant clinical experience or specialty certification required for particular practice areas such as enterostomal therapy, epidemiology, or peri‑operative care. Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and support quality improvement projects. Ability to delegate appropriate patient‑care activities effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for diverse patient populations. Physical ability to perform core job responsibilities according to clinical setting demands. Effective stress management in the context of patient care, organizational changes, and personnel issues. Compensation Range $38.05 – $75.33 per hour. The range is an estimate; the final offer will consider education, experience, licensure, and certification.
