Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities Manage civil construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost tracking, quality control, and contract requirements. Review plans, specifications, estimates, and contract documents. Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost forecasts, and progress reports. Coordinate daily operations with project owners, inspectors, engineers, field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers. Manage the subcontractor bidding process, including scope review, bid comparison, negotiation, and contract award. Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, and project correspondence. Identify potential delays, conflicts, and additional work, and develop practical solutions. Monitor subcontractor performance and confirm that work is completed according to the plans, specifications, schedule, and budget. Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements, environmental regulations, permits, building codes, and public works standards. Participate in project meetings, site walks, inspections, and coordination meetings. Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates to senior management. Support punch-list completion, as-built documentation, final acceptance, and project closeout. Build and maintain professional relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant civil construction experience may be considered in place of a degree. Experience managing civil, underground utility, roadway, or public works projects. Strong knowledge of project budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and contract administration. Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to complete projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software. Experience with scheduling, estimating, document-control, and accounting software is preferred.
