About Via's Creative Studio The Creative Studio shapes the way thousands of people interact with Via’s brand and resources every day. Through creative storytelling, you will get to design communication seen by different cultures around the world, with the goal of mobilizing believers to find their most strategic role in completing the Great Commission. In the Creative Studio, we always have our eyes open to be inspired by new ideas. We believe the Holy Spirit is incredibly creative, and he speaks to us through what we see around us. We’re also never done learning; you will be honed and poured into by your teammates and further shaped by ongoing professional development. Our team’s skills span graphic design, web design, copywriting, video production, and brand thinking, all with the aim of stewarding our brand and developing resources. The Opportunity Your role is critical to helping every believer find their role in completing the Great Commission. As Designer, your main responsibility will be creating print and digital pieces, with an emphasis on the art of design. Key Responsibility Areas Deliver Designs that Set the Bar Your work is the standard others measure their own against. Every piece you create should feel alive with intention: captivating visuals, smart storytelling, and design choices confident enough to move Via'’s brand forward without losing what makes it recognizably ours. Steward and Shape Via's Brand You are both guardian and trailblazer of Via’s brand. With oversight from the Creative Director, you're trusted to protect the integrity of the brand while also stretching it into new, exciting territory—making judgment calls that keep our visual identity coherent even as it evolves. Produce major resources and communications independently You’ll create Via’s tentpole resources and communications—flagship pieces like conference themes, major campaign identities, and long-form resources—with oversight, rather than significant direction, from the Creative Director. Whether building something from scratch or elevating an existing system, your own creative judgment is what shapes how people experience Via. Lead communication with stakeholders You’ll own stakeholder relationships for your projects—gathering requirements, presenting bold designs with clarity, and navigating feedback with confidence—keeping the Creative Director informed rather than seeking direction at each step. Mentor Designers and Junior Designers You’ll help lift the whole team, not just those newest to it. Through feedback, coaching, and modeling strong creative judgment, you’ll help Designers grow toward the independence you’ve already built, and help Junior Designers build a strong foundation. Provide art direction on defined projects On select projects, you’ll set the creative vision and give direction to other contributors—without managing them directly—ensuring the work stays cohesive and true to Via’s brand even when you're not the one at the keyboard. Create visual assets that support cross-functional initiatives You’ll create dynamic visual assets that support projects with MarCom and Tech. From web graphics to brochures to email visuals, your visuals will bring clarity, personality, and energy to the spaces where people meet Via every day Qualifications Must-Haves A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, agree with our Core Beliefs and Statement of Faith, and willing to embrace our Via Core Values. A desire to see the nations reached and a passion for those who’ve never heard the good news. Work habits and skills Good communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn and grow in cross-cultural communication as you engage with leaders and staff around the world. Ability to both work well as part of a team and to work independently, solving problems and making creative calls before resorting to asking for help. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or equivalent experience in a related field. 5+ years of experience, with proven success on flagship work and an associated portfolio demonstrating independent creative judgment. A strong, demonstrated sense of taste and craft—able to originate beautiful, solid creative concepts, not just execute someone else’s. A desire to never stop learning and growing as a designer. Deep understanding of brand and the ability to express and evolve a brand in artwork. Expert understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Ability to receive constructive feedback well, even at a senior level. Proven ability and experience in coaching and mentoring others with kindness and clarity. Ability to lead collaboration between MarCom, Tech, and our stakeholders within Via, representing the Studio with minimal oversight. Bonus Skills Schooling or experience in editorial design, illustration, photography, or marketing. Experience in UI, video, animation, or 3D tools such as Figma, Premiere, After Effects, or Substance. Experience with Redokun, a translation software. Experience working with Google Workspace. Experience with agile project management and associated tools like Jira. Compensation and Benefits Compensation : This role is a hybrid of salary and support raised. Salary is based on skills, training and leadership experience. We have healthy salaries to ensure our staff and their family thrive now and in the future, but salary ranges are established on needs-based factors such as whether you’re single or married, your age, and ministry location. This is different from the corporate world, but normal in the missions world. Most staff also are trained and expected to mobilize a team of ministry partners to provide the finances to cover their compensation and personal ministry expenses. This helps mobilize more people to join us in God’s global mission and our ministry, allows Via to grow exponentially as God brings the workers, and provides you with a team of people who partner with you in prayer and are invested in your work.
