Job Title: HVAC Installer
Job Description
The HVAC Installer installs heating and cooling systems in new residential construction, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe, efficient operation of all HVAC equipment in newly built homes.
Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine HVAC system layout and installation requirements for new homes.
• Install ductwork, furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning units in residential new construction according to specifications and building codes.
• Perform installation of duct work, including measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing ducts to ensure proper airflow and system performance.
• Run copper refrigerant lines and perform drain work, ensuring all connections are properly sealed, supported, and compliant with safety standards.
• Complete rough-in installations and final/trim-out phases, including setting equipment, connecting controls, and finishing registers, grills, and vents.
• Test newly installed HVAC systems to verify safe operation, correct performance, and compliance with manufacturer guidelines and local codes.
• Troubleshoot and correct installation issues identified during testing or inspections to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with builders, site supervisors, and other trades on new construction projects to coordinate installation schedules and resolve onsite challenges.
• Follow all safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Document work performed and communicate status updates and any issues encountered to appropriate team members or supervisors.

Essential Skills

• 4-10 years of HVAC installation experience specifically in new residential construction.
• Strong experience with residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioners.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings for HVAC layout and installation.
• Proficiency in installing ductwork, including rough-in and final/trim-out phases.
• Experience running copper refrigerant lines and performing drain work for HVAC systems.
• as an HVAC installer or HVAC technician in new construction environments.
• Valid driver's license.
• HVAC certification or EPA Universal certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ideally 4-10 years of experience as an HVAC installer in residential new construction.
• Familiarity with rough-ins and final/trim-out processes for HVAC installations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple new construction sites.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable transportation to reach various job sites within the regional service area.

Work Environment
This role operates in a field-based environment focused on new residential construction projects. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule with no on-call requirements. Approximately 90% of the work takes place on the southside of the region, including areas such as Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and Portsmouth, with limited service sites in Hampton and Newport News. Work is performed on active construction sites, requiring appropriate work attire and adherence to safety practices while using standard HVAC installation tools and equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Norfolk, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $72800.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Full Benefits: life insurance, 50% of health/dental insurance and paid vacation time.
