Inspection Lead (2nd Shift)

Job Description Position Overview The Inspection Lead is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the Drying, Inspection, Printing, and Packaging processes. This role monitors production activities, ensures compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and works closely with Operators to maintain product quality, productivity, and workplace safety. Duties and Responsibilities Follow batch record specifications and ensure accurate execution of production processes. Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and that production activities comply with cGMP requirements. Promote a positive team environment by fostering collaboration and effective communication among employees. Provide hands‑on training and guidance to new Inspection personnel. Verify that all bins, trays, containers, and materials are properly identified with the required tags and documentation. Monitor and oversee the drying process to ensure product quality and process consistency. Maintain organization of drying rooms and tunnels, ensuring proper segregation by product and lot number. Report out‑of‑specification capsules or quality concerns to the Supervisor and Quality Assurance (QA) department. Ensure employees properly clean and sanitize bins, trays, containers, equipment, and work areas. Verify compliance with gowning procedures and other GMP requirements. Ensure employees operate equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend revisions to procedures that enhance efficiency in the Drying, Inspection, Printing, and Packaging areas. Support departmental goals related to quality, safety, productivity, and continuous improvement. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED is preferred. Work Experience / Qualifications Previous experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food manufacturing, or a regulated production environment preferred. Prior experience with softgel inspection processes and related equipment strongly preferred. Working knowledge of cGMP requirements and quality systems. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to train and motivate team members while maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance.
