Emergency Medicine Position Overview

Join our organization at a Level III Trauma Center, where we handle approximately 25,000 patient visits annually. Our full-service hospital operates around the clock, featuring a dedicated Hospitalist program, air medical services, and ambulance support. We are equipped with CT and MRI facilities within the department, bedside ultrasound capabilities, and point-of-use supplies in every room.

We provide 42 hours of physician coverage each day and serve as a tertiary center with a robust network of over 300 physicians and specialists. This allows us to manage a wide range of cases in-house, including:

• Trauma Surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiology
• Gastroenterology
• ENT
• Pediatric Hospitalists
• OBGYN
• Pulmonary/Critical Care
• Neurology
• Infectious Disease
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Anesthesia
• Radiology

We only transfer patients out when absolutely necessary, allowing you to practice at a single location. Additionally, this role offers teaching opportunities for residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a hospital-employed position, which comes with a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $65,000. Key details include:

• Base salary of $421,000 per year (equivalent to $225 per hour) plus performance incentives
• A recruitment bonus of $100,000
• Relocation assistance up to $15,000
• 120 hours of annual time off (ATO)
• Extra shift bonus pay
• Annual CME allowance of $6,000
• Employer-covered liability insurance and tail coverage
• Health, dental, vision, life, and short/long-term disability coverage starting on day one
• 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions and matching, along with an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan

• Board Certified/Board Eligible (must achieve board certification within three years of eligibility)
• Completed an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship

Qualifications Summary

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited medical or osteopathic school and have completed a relevant residency program. Candidates should be board certified or eligible and must be able to secure medical staff privileges at our facility. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. A valid Iowa physician license, Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate, and Federal DEA Certificate are required.
