Allied Technician - Respiratory Therapist

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide exceptional pulmonary care for both critical and non-critical patients across various age groups, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates. This role requires working under the direction of a physician while performing comprehensive patient assessments and implementing respiratory care plans with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies, including Code Blue and Code White situations.
• Manage airway interventions, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
• Deliver aerosolized medications as prescribed.
• Manage and operate ventilators and related equipment.
• Maintain oral hygiene for patients receiving respiratory support.
• Place and maintain airway retention devices.
• Manage and monitor airway support devices, including BiPAP and CPAP.
• Administer oxygen delivery devices and conduct therapeutic monitoring.
• Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information and care.
• Clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
• May function as a Shift Leader or Team Leader.
• Engage in advanced practice skills as applicable, including therapeutic gas monitoring, pulmonary function testing, and bronchoscopy assistance.
• Conduct hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluations, and polysomnography.
• Perform transport duties for patients requiring respiratory therapy.

Job Requirements

• Education and Skills: Requires appropriate licensure and/or certification.
• Experience: Preferably 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
  • Active RT or RCP License in the state of Texas is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC is required.
  • BLS certification (AHA) is required.
  • ACLS certification (AHA) is required.
  • PALS certification (AHA) is required.
  • NRP certification is required.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM.
