Pre-K Lead Teacher – $18.50–$24/hr – Full-Time – Paterson, NJ

Pay: $18.50–$24 per hour, based on experience, education, credentials, and performance
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Reports to: Center Director or Executive Director

Tiny Steps Learning Center is seeking a caring, experienced, and dependable Pre-K Lead Teacher to lead a high-quality classroom for children ages 3 to 5.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, strong in classroom management, and able to create a safe, structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement daily lessons aligned with early childhood learning standards.
• Create a warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use play-based and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Supervise and support Assistant Teachers and classroom aides.
• Maintain positive classroom management and strong routines.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s progress.
• Communicate professionally with families regarding progress, classroom activities, and milestones.
• Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, assessments, and required classroom documentation.
• Follow all Tiny Steps Learning Center policies, NJ childcare licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• New Jersey P-3 Certification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher, Head Teacher, or Pre-K Teacher in an early childhood setting.
• Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and classroom management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
• Must meet NJ childcare clearance requirements.
