The unit consists of private rooms and serves a diverse patient population, including young adult through geriatric patients. Priority admission is given to patients requiring medical-surgical level monitoring and interventions. Major patient diagnoses include medical and surgical conditions, along with neurology or neurosurgical issues. The unit is equipped with telemetry and oximetry monitoring for comprehensive patient care. The patient ratio is structured to ensure adequate attention and quality of care. Daily census is approximately 20 patients. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various specialists, including physical therapy and pharmacy. The environment promotes evidence-based, patient-centered care with a focus on neurological assessment and recovery. An ongoing commitment to optimizing functional outcomes is integral to the unit's mission. Skills required include management of dysrhythmias, IV maintenance, and specific neurological care protocols. Candidates should possess experience with telemetry monitoring and be familiar with administering blood products. Communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential for patient success.
