Counsel

Position Summary: The Counsel position is a key member supporting the organization’s legal needs by managing the contracts team, overseeing legal-related processes, and assisting the General Counsel in providing legal advice to business stakeholders. Your Contributions & Responsibilities Support the General Counsel in advising the organization on a variety of legal and contractual matters. Oversee and coordinate the work of paralegals, providing high‑quality support to partners and employees with preparation of client engagement letters, master services agreements, RFP responses, subcontractor agreements, Kovel agreements, NDAs, conflict waivers, and other vendor and client‑related agreements. Manage the organization’s subpoena compliance and other court‑related matters, ensuring strategy and accurate information in the case management system. Review leases for the organization’s premises across the country and/or oversee related work performed by staff or outside counsel. Manage the organization’s intellectual property. Effectively manage outside counsel’s use of time and resources in any outsourced legal matters. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Your Background & Skills Juris Doctor degree with three (3) to seven (7) years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or as an in‑house corporate attorney. Must be a member in good standing with the bar in one U.S. state or territory. Litigation experience required. Preferred: professional liability and/or accountant liability experience. Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of contracts, including negotiation of agreements with clients, vendors, and other third parties. Strong experience and ability to understand and provide insight to clients concerning nuanced issues in a variety of practice areas. Ability to anticipate and identify issues and strategically weigh risks and potential legal outcomes. Detail‑oriented, with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with initiative and as a team member. Interest in a long‑term role contributing to the strategic development of a growing legal department. Compensation: $109,000 to $148,000 depending on experience; more is possible if experience dictates.
