Based on our internal equity review process, the starting salary for this position will be $19.88. The current full hourly range for this position is $19.88 - $23.28.

Serve up snacks and smiles at Owen Beach, operating the beachfront concession stand! Prep and serve concession staples, ice cream, drinks, and more! You'll be responsible for operating a variety of food service equipment (fridges, freezers, drip coffee machines, soft serve machines, hot dog rollers, waffle cone irons, etc) and ensuring snacks are served hot (or cold!) and delicious to beach visitors all summer long! This job is located in the concession stand at Owen Beach, in a prep kitchen environment. If you enjoy interacting with customers, serving tasty food and soaking in breathtaking views, and can maintain a clean workspace, maintain good records and inventory, work independently to open and close the concession stand, and want to contribute to making the Owen Beach experience even better for our thousands of visitors, this job might be for you!

Provide a high level of customer service to patrons during a variety of events, programs, and rentals. Customer Service Assistants also responsible for providing assistance to Recreation participants and security for the facility.

Essential Duties

• Provide information to the public concerning activities, programs, policies, regulations, and schedules.
• Understand, explain, and enforce facility rules.

• Maintain accurate accounting of funds received from patrons.
• Ensure facility and grounds are kept neat, clean and litter free; perform basic custodial and light maintenance duties.

• Assist with set up and take down of rentals, programs, events and other activities.
• Provide a positive attitude toward program participants and staff; encourage and serve as a positive role model for program participants.
• Escalate problems, concerns, and emergencies to supervisor in a timely manner.

• Perform clerical duties as needed.

• Ensure proper rental, program, activities and event procedures are followed, both with regard to safety and program guidelines.

• Communicate with supervisor and team; provide written attendance and facility reports.
• May be responsible to open and/or close facility.
• Supervise the site throughout the work shift; provide facility security as needed.
• Assist in coordination of seasonal staff and volunteer schedules.
• Provide direction and training to other staff.
• Act as a shift lead.
• Ensure program/facility rules, policies and procedures are followed; maintain and enforce safety standards and expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work or volunteer experience with customer service, and/or cash handling responsibilities.
• Valid Food Handler's Certification required, or ability to obtain certification after hire (provided by employer).

Additional Information

HOURS/SCHEDULE:

• Up to 40 hours per week.
• Shifts scheduled anytime between 9:00 AM7:00 PM, MondaySunday.
• Opening, mid-day, and closing shifts available.
• Seasonal position with employment expected from June through September.
• Weekday and weekend availability required.
