Web3 Engineer

Our current product focus is funds, credit and structured products with a view to expand these offerings in-line with market demands.

Having recently closed our Series A investment with major financial institutions such as HSBC, Marketnode is well positioned for its next phase of growth and is looking for a Web3 Engineer to help build and scale our next-generation digital asset and blockchain solutions. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining decentralized applications, smart contracts, and blockchain integrations while ensuring security, scalability, and performance across our platform offerings.

The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions, drive technical excellence, and contribute to the evolution of our Web3 capabilities and engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain smart contracts on Solana and EVM-compatible blockchains
• Build and maintain Web3 integrations using ethers.js and/or Web3.js
• Write, test, and deploy Solidity smart contracts
• Assist in integrating and maintaining wallet infrastructure, including Fireblocks
• Troubleshoot and resolve blockchain-related issues and bugs
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Collaborate with senior engineers on feature implementation and delivery
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Follow smart contract security and testing standards
• Ability to quickly research, learn, and adapt to new blockchain networks, protocols, token standards, and Web3 technologies in a fast-evolving ecosystem.
• Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with exposure to blockchain technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Solidity smart contract development.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience working with ethers.js and/or Web3.js.
• Strong understanding of Ethereum and EVM-compatible blockchain networks.
• Knowledge of ERC-20 and ERC-721 token standards.
• Experience using OpenZeppelin smart contract libraries.
• Understanding of blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Hardhat and/or Foundry development frameworks.
• Understanding of ERC-1155 and advanced token standards.
• Exposure to Fireblocks or other digital asset custody solutions.
• Familiarity with wallet integrations such as MetaMask, WalletConnect, or similar.
• Knowledge of DeFi protocols and decentralized applications.
• Understanding of smart contract security best practices and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
