Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery Nurse
Provides specialized nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period. Supervises and coordinates care with obstetric and neonatal teams, ensuring optimal outcomes for mother and baby.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' health status and monitor fetal and maternal condition throughout labor and delivery.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Provide direct patient care including administering medications, assisting with procedures, and offering emotional support.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Coordinate care activities, delegate tasks appropriately, and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- At least two years recent experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing.
- Current BLS certification mandated; additional certifications such as NRP or ARC-NALS required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency procedures.
