We are seeking a Shipping/ Receiving Clerk to join our team in Hickory, NC!

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage incoming and outgoing shipments and maintain accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will ensure that goods are received in good condition, orders are packed correctly, and shipments are prepared and sent in a timely manner.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

• Review backlog/scheduled shipments daily. Plan for the day's shipments based on order promise date and inventory availability.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped and provide quotes to customer service department.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Unload materials from incoming trucks and match them with purchase orders and check for accuracy.
• Prepare, package, label, and schedule outgoing shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight companies.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and documentation in the inventory management system.
• Work closely with purchasing, production, and operations team to ensure timely flow of materials.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper documentation accompanies all inbound and outbound shipments (e.g., packing slips, BOLs, invoices).

Fill out international shipping documentation

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed

Required Education:

• High school degree or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:

Frequent interaction on the shop floor. Production environment: dust, grease and metal shavings are common. Significant risks from equipment and environment require constant care and vigilance. Be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 lbs.

Experiences / Skills Required:

• Must be able to multi-task
• Strong safety orientation
• Excellent attention to detail
• Fork lift accreditation
• Basic computer knowledge (email, spreadsheets)
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience with UPS Worldship and other shipping software
• Experience with international shipments and required documentation
• 1+ years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations

This position works 1st shift, 6:00am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-2:30pm Friday . Starting pay range: $20-23/hr.
