Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, Chemotherapy certification Must-Have: Two years of experience in oncology nursing. Ability to work every third weekend. Certification in Basic Life Support and Chemotherapy. Description: The position is for an oncology registered nurse. The nurse will work night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The unit specializes in oncology and is also designated for hospice and comfort care. The daily patient census averages around 20 patients. Patient ratios may be approximately 5.5 patients per nurse during night shifts. The nurse will provide care to adult patients undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Duties include administration of chemotherapy and blood products. The nurse will manage care and coordination for patients and families. Documentation will be done using electronic medical records. The facility supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various health care teams. Additional responsibilities may include overseeing central line care, managing ports, and administering medications. Nurses should demonstrate competency in handling potential complications related to chemotherapy. Continuous education and support for patients and their families are integral to this role. Candidates must be flexible and willing to float within the facility as needed. The role will not require on-call duty. This position welcomes applications from new graduates with relevant certifications.
