With a focus on reliability, driver experience, and cutting-edge technology, Oshkosh Delivery empowers fleets and businesses to move goods smarter, safer, and with confidence, today and for the road ahead.**The Quality Technician will be responsible for completing inspection and testing tasks in all the production, quality, and testing areas of the Spartanburg Plant. These inspections and tests may take place on supplier parts or Oshkosh assembled parts, sub-assemblies, or completed vehicles. The quality technician will be responsible for utilizing the plants’ Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to record inspection and test findings. Inspections and tests will be carried out in accordance with the approved work instructions, checklists, and control plans. The Quality Technician may also participate in plant level start-up/daily review meetings and report out on inspection and test findings.**Essential Duties:**These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Technicians may be assigned to a specific area (paint, end of line etc.) so some of these responsibilities may not apply to all quality technicians.* Utilize inspection work instructions, checklists, and control plans to complete inspections and tests on “in-process” vehicles and sub-assemblies* Complete inspections, sorting and minor rework on purchased components when parts are required to support production requirements* Utilize the MES system and other systems to record inspection and test findings* Interface with production operators to understand any challenging assembly process that may require additional inspection* Participate in plant start-up and daily review meetings and provide details on inspection and test findings* Complete testing and drive evaluation on completed vehicles* Create summary reports of inspection and test findings* Participate in continuous improvement, root cause, 8D team meetings* Utilize CMM to measure incoming parts and in process vehicles (training will be provided)* Utilize torque monitoring equipment to verify DC torque tools* Utilize hand tools (calipers, micrometers, go/no go gages, etc.) to verify components* Inspect sheet metal surface quality* Inspect paint quality* Contain suspect vehicles and perform inspections and tests, as needed* Other duties, as assigned**Minimum Qualifications:*** Basic computer, math, and reading skills* General understanding of testing equipment* Ability to work with minimum supervision* Excellent organizational and time management skills* Ability to analyze and interpret information* Ability to communicate with leadership and fellow team members in both written and verbal forms at a level above standard* Team-oriented**Preferred Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or GED* Previous automotive experience* At least six months experience as an Inspection or Quality Technician**Competencies:*** **Being Observant:** Aware and alert to changes within and/or outside documented processes* **Analyzing:** Ability to comprehend information and make connections; capable of maintaining a logical and methodical approach* **Accountability**: Responsible for the consequences of one’s actions* **Attention to detail:** Ability to see and become attentive to details* **Team-oriented:** Working well with others and maintaining a focus and value on team* **Cooperation:** Ability to work effectively with others to achieve a shared goal, even when the object at stake is of no direct personal interest* **Flexible**: Ability to respond, modify, and integrate change with minimal personal resistance* **Identification with Management:** Ability and willingness to understand, accept, and carry out decisions and measures from leadership* **Initiative:** Recognize and create opportunities and act accordingly rather than waiting passively for opportunities to happen* **Insight:** Having and gaining insight into situations, problems, and processes* **Ability to Meet Standards:** Understanding established requirements to complete a task, job, or project and individual commitment to complete them* **Quality focused:** Striving for continuous improvement and high-quality standards* **Integrity:** Adhering to standards, values, and code of conduct within position* **Reliability**: Extent to which you can be counted on to do what is expected (completing assigned tasks, projects, and meeting deadlines)**Working Conditions:****Physical Demands:** Frequent: Standing, Walking/Running, Sitting, Reaching, Hearing, Talking, Visual, typing; Occasional: Climbing, Driving, Bending/Kneeling, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity; Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Lifting/Carrying up to 35 lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 35 lbs.**Non-Physical Demands:** Occasional: Analysis/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation, Reading, Sustained Mental Activity (i.e., auditing, problem solving, composing reports), writing.**Environmental Demands:** Occasional: Work Alone, Frequent Task Changes, Tedious/Exacting Work, Dust, Temperature Extremes, Loud Noises.**Work Schedule:** Routine shift hours**Demands/Deadlines:** Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures, or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
