Role Description This is a contract, on-site Construction Superintendent role initially based in Schaumburg, IL , with immediate project options available in other cities and states across our national pipeline. The Construction Superintendent will serve as the core on‑site leader, taking full command of day‑to‑day field operations for multifamily builds, ground‑up residential developments, or hospitality projects. The successful candidate will manage all site logistics, coordinate subcontractors, enforce premier craftsmanship, and mitigate project risk through precise digital documentation. You will work closely with project managers to keep the build tracking on‑time and on‑budget while maintaining absolute safety and compliance. Position Logistics Primary location: Schaumburg, IL (with options for future projects across regional and national sites). Compensation & Travel Highly competitive contract rates. A company vehicle is provided for the duration of the project. For out‑of‑state project assignments, competitive travel bonuses and mobilization incentives are provided. Key Responsibilities Site Management & Logistics: Oversee all daily field activities, manage trade sequencing, coordinate material deliveries, and maintain clean, highly organized site logistics. Scheduling & Look‑Aheads: Maintain the master project schedule. Develop and execute detailed six‑week look‑ahead schedules to proactively manage long‑lead items and subcontractor manpower. Quality Control & Craftsmanship: Inspect work in progress against architectural drawings, structural specs, subcontracts, scopes of work, and approved shop drawings to ensure elite quality. Safety Enforcement: Enforce a strict zero‑injury site culture. Maintain good housekeeping regulations, identify site hazards, and ensure full compliance with OSHA and state‑level safety mandates. Digital Documentation: Manage all daily logs, field reports, photo documentation, and RFI tracking digitally. Coordinate directly with the project management team via Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Stakeholder Coordination: Conduct weekly on‑site subcontractor coordination meetings. Interface professionally with municipal inspectors, architects, engineers, and owners' representatives to resolve field issues promptly. Qualifications & Skills Experience & Education: A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. OR 5+ years of relevant field leadership experience as a superintendent. Candidates possessing both a relevant degree and 5+ years of experience are highly preferred. Must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Sector Expertise: Proven track record of successful field leadership strictly within multifamily communities, high‑density ground‑up residential developments, or hospitality/hotel construction. Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including hands‑on proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud, digital blueprint viewing platforms, and basic office tools (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Windows file management). Certifications: Valid driver’s license required. OSHA 30‑Hour Certification is required (or ability to obtain immediately). Leadership and Problem Solving: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage multi‑disciplinary crews, de‑escalate job‑site conflicts, and drive innovative solutions to complex structural or logistical challenges under pressure. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and navigate rough, uneven construction terrain for extended periods. Ability to safely climb multiple flights of stairs, scaffolding, and ladders repeatedly throughout the workday.
