Licensed Electrician

GD Resources LLC is seeking experienced Licensed Electricians to support electrical infrastructure and critical facility systems at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, repair, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems.
• Work with panels, switchgear, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, receptacles, controls, and related electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot normal and emergency electrical power systems.
• Maintain generators, transfer switches, motor control centers, and variable-frequency drives.
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, generators, breakers, and controls.
• Use multimeters, meggers, insulation testers, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Support electrical systems serving HVAC, elevators, medical equipment, and other critical healthcare infrastructure.
• Diagnose faults and perform corrective repairs.
• Complete electrical work orders, PM records, testing records, and outage reports.
• Follow National Electrical Code, VA, and facility safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, full, and unrestricted applicable Electrician license .
• Minimum 5 years of electrical trade experience , including commercial or hospital experience.
• Experience with commercial/industrial electrical distribution and emergency power systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and applicable codes.

Work Schedule

• 1st Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
• 3rd Shift: 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM

This position supports a facility operating 24 hours per day .
