Physician Assistant - Cardiology

About the Company

We are seeking a Physician Assistant who specializes in cardiovascular medicine and imaging to provide medical services in collaboration with our cardiology physicians. Join us to provide top-notch care for cardiac patients including but not limited to conducting, recording and interpreting stress test results.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
\n
• Conduct relevant physical exam and evaluate patient, documenting pertinent findings.
\n
• Provide care for adult patients who have cardiovascular complaints and conditions.
\n
• Conduct and supervise cardiac diagnostic testing.
\n
• Order appropriate laboratory examinations or tests; interpret results.
\n
• Establish diagnosis of cardiovascular ailments and formulate a plan of treatment, as well as assess the patient’s response to therapy.
\n
• Diagnose and treat heart disease and manage chronic illness as part of a preventative maintenance program.
\n
• Enlighten patients and their families with regard to cardiovascular condition prevention and maintenance.
\n
• Prescribe medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
\n
• Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
\n
• Attend staff educational programs and meetings.
\n
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
\n

Qualifications

Qualifications:

\n
• Physician Assistant:
\n
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Studies but a strong preference for Master of Science degree in Physician Studies.
\n
• Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
\n
• Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required but both strongly preferred.
\n
• Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
\n
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
\n
