Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Manage all phases of commercial construction projects, from preconstruction and planning through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
\n
• Oversee MEP project scopes, including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and coordination with other trades.
\n
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and resource plans.
\n
• Lead project teams, including project engineers, assistant project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
\n
• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and trade partners to ensure project requirements are met.
\n
• Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and scope documents.
\n
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and implement corrective action plans.
\n
• Manage subcontractor performance, procurement, material deliveries, and long-lead equipment to maintain project schedules.
\n
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, project specifications, and quality requirements.
\n
• Lead project meetings, provide regular progress reports, and maintain strong client relationships.
\n
• Oversee MEP coordination, equipment installation, system testing, commissioning, and final turnover.
\n
• Manage project financials, including cost control, billing, change management, and profitability.
\n
• Ensure accurate project documentation and successful project closeout.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
\n
• 7+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in commercial construction with significant MEP involvement.
\n
• Demonstrated experience managing complex commercial construction projects from start to finish.
\n
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and their coordination within commercial buildings.
\n
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and change orders.
\n
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
\n
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Proficiency with project scheduling, cost management, and construction project management software.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain project delivery standards.
