Immediate opening for a  Sr. Accountant / Assistant Controller in  San Pedro, CA who possesses:

• 5+ years of senior accounting, controller, or assistant controller experience
• 5+ years of general ledger reconciliation and month-end close experience
• Microsoft Dynamics GP, Great Plains, Dynamics 365, Business Central, or related Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience

FULL DESCRIPTION:   We are seeking a Sr. Accountant / Assistant Controller to support general ledger cleanup, reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, account analysis, and improved accuracy of financial records. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can start quickly, work independently, identify and resolve discrepancies, and support timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, hands-on Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience, and the ability to drive accounting cleanup and reconciliation efforts with accuracy and urgency.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading general ledger cleanup and reconciliation efforts
• Performing general ledger account reconciliations
• Supporting month-end close activities
• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Performing account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
• Reviewing financial records for accuracy and completeness
• Improving the accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting
• Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
• Using Microsoft Dynamics GP, Great Plains, Dynamics 365, Business Central, or related Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems
• Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies
• Supporting timely and accurate financial reporting
• Working independently to complete accounting cleanup and reconciliation projects
• Communicating findings, issues, and progress to management as needed
• Supporting additional accounting and finance needs as assigned
• Performing other duties as assigned

The selected candidate will also possess:

• 5+ years of senior accounting, controller, or assistant controller experience required
• 5+ years of general ledger experience required
• 5+ years of month-end close experience required
• Strong general ledger reconciliation experience required
• Journal entry experience required
• Account analysis experience required
• Microsoft Dynamics GP or Great Plains experience required
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central experience may be considered
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Ability to improve accounting processes and financial record accuracy
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work proactively and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to start immediately preferred
• Ability to work onsite in San Pedro, CA

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday
• Ability to review general ledger accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, financial records, ERP data, spreadsheets, and computer screens for extended periods
• Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, data entry, documentation, reporting, reconciliation work, and standard office tasks
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the office as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office files, documents, or supplies

Salary Range: $33 to $45/hour
