Position Summary Wright-Hennepin is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Financial Services team. In this role, you will apply your accounting expertise and technical skills to support accurate financial reporting and ensure the Cooperative continues to deliver reliable, cost-effective services to our members. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness, along with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Location: Onsite - Rockford, MN Hourly Range: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience Wright-Hennepin offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Generous 401(k) match Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions Annual bonus opportunity Paid time off and company-paid holidays Flexible Spending Accounts (medical and dependent care) What You’ll Do Accounting & Finance (Primary Focus) Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP and RUS Uniform System of Accounts Assist with monthly financial reporting, including operating statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Maintain accurate subledgers and perform timely account reconciliations Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and assisting auditors Assist with budget preparation and data entry Complete sales and property tax filings and stay current on tax regulations Prepare monthly reporting, including generator reports Partner with internal teams to research and provide financial information Complete sales tax and property tax filings and stay abreast of changing sales tax rates and jurisdictions, and taxable products/services Review contracts, process invoices, and execute accounts payable, including preparing and obtaining W9s and vendor validations Contribute to special projects as needed Team & Department Support Help execute the Financial Services annual work plan Develop cross-functional knowledge to provide backup support across accounting functions Cooperative Engagement Participate in department and Cooperative meetings Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities What We’re Looking For Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Associate’s degree in Accounting with 2+ years of relevant experience Cooperative accounting experience preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Sound knowledge of GAAP High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Effective written and verbal communication skills What Sets You Apart You align with Wright-Hennepin’s core values and demonstrate: Integrity – You build trust, follow through on commitments, and support our mission Safety Mindset – You follow procedures and help promote a culture of safety Member Focus – You deliver responsive, high-quality service Teamwork – You collaborate and support team success Dependability – You take accountability and consistently meet expectations Performance Excellence – You work efficiently, continuously improve, and solve problems proactively This position operates in a climate-controlled office setting with regular computer use and interaction with team members across the organization.
