The NCSHP has more than 1,600 troopers who cover nearly 80,000 miles of North Carolina roadways, more than any other state except Texas. In addition to enforcing the state's traffic laws, state troopers also guide traffic during hurricane evacuations, re-route traffic around hazardous chemical spills, and they stand ready should any act of terrorism occur. State Troopers are committed to protecting North Carolina's motoring public.**Description of Work**This position requires the monitoring of multiple large scale networks and support of these networks. These networks include, VIPER (Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders), CJIN/DCI, OFM and NCSHP Internal Network. This position is responsible for first level troubleshooting and for monitoring for any network or site issues that may arise. This position is responsible for notification of users, technicians and vendors when a problem comes up and to work with Network Technicians to help resolve the problem. Requires extensive experience with contractors to design, install, and support both new and existing systems. Employee will support the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Continuity of Operations efforts network operations and routing, understanding of user operations, and customer service skills.
