Mental Health Therapist

Salary Range: $73,000.00 to $80,000.00 Annually BrightQuest Treatment Center – La Mesa BrightQuest Treatment Center is hiring a Mental Health Therapist for an onsite clinical position. About the Role The primary goal of the clinician is to provide exceptional clinical treatment services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapy to clients. The clinician participates as a member of the Treatment Team and provides a unique perspective to the team in an effort to offer the best and most well‑rounded care for each client. Responsibilities A case load of primary clients, secondary clients, and families will be assigned by the Clinical Leadership Team. Provide therapy, case management, coordination of auxiliary care, oversee client schedules and therapeutic structures, develop and manage treatment plans, and provide families with updates on their loved one’s progress. Active participation in weekly administrative, clinical and training meetings. Document clinical records: progress notes, admission and discharge summaries, treatment plan updates, disciplinary and recommendation letters, and support staff with documentation needs. Coordinate and consult with staff via in‑person, phone, or email. Facilitate assessments. Exhibit general psychotherapy skills: develop therapeutic alliance, gather data, demonstrate diagnostic‑analytic skills. Utilize intervention skills: maintain working alliance, focus therapy, understand personal process issues, engage in crisis intervention, exhibit case‑management skills. Demonstrate skill in individual, group, and family therapy. Manage time effectively and adhere to boundaries. Submit paperwork promptly. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree required. Associate’s degree and/or licensed clinicians strongly preferred. Experience with serious mental illness preferred. Experience with addiction and mental health preferred. At least 3 years of clinical experience, residential setting preferred. Comprehensive treatment‑planning skills required. Experience working with families. Case‑management and discharge‑planning skills. Computer typing skills and proficiency with various software programs. Additional preferred skills: family therapy, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, EMDR, or somatic therapy. Must be at least 18 years of age.
