STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Essential Functions and Duties: Perform primary bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Process payroll and related tax and deduction payments accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain permanent client and vendor files, including agreements, contracts, work orders, and request cards. Review corporate credit card entries in Accounts Payable, verifying entries against credit card statements and ensuring correct use tax calculations. Process sales tax reports and payments accurately and within required deadlines. Monitor checking account for cash needs on a monthly basis. Assist with month‑end by providing month‑end reports to balance to the general ledger. Assist with answering incoming phone calls and transferring them to the appropriate team member while providing excellent customer service to clients. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred with 5 years of experience in an accounting role or similar position; or Equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience. Physical Requirements: Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, typewriter, 10‑key adding machine, or other office equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to read documents and computer screens. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to transport personal luggage and a laptop computer when traveling. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in a standard office or remote office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. The role requires extended periods of computer use.
