About the Role:

As a Level II Network Engineer with Stability Networks, you will serve as the primary technical resource for assigned managed clients, resolving escalated network issues, supporting proactive maintenance, and improving client network stability. This role requires travel to client sites up to 75% of the time for onsite support, projects, assessments, and relationship management. You will document client environments, deliver consistent service quality, and partner with internal teams to ensure reliable support.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in network support, systems support, help desk escalation, or managed services environments.
• Ability to independently triage and resolve Level 2 network incidents and service requests, escalating when senior engineering, vendor, or carrier support is needed.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing concepts, NAT, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, wireless connectivity, internet circuits, and firewall basics.
• Hands-on experience supporting business network components such as firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN clients, and end-user connectivity.
• Working knowledge of core network services, identity-dependent connectivity, endpoint access, and client infrastructure dependencies as they relate to network operations.
• Clear ticket documentation, client communication, troubleshooting notes, resolution summaries, and escalation details.
• Strong customer service, analytical thinking, problem solving, and priority management in a service-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in MSP, multi-client, network engineering, or advanced systems/network support environments.
• Cisco CCNA preferred; Cisco CCNP, advanced vendor networking certification, or equivalent practical experience strongly preferred for complex routing, switching, firewall, and escalation scenarios.
• Deeper administration experience with Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, Ubiquiti, Aruba, or similar firewall, switch, wireless, and VPN platforms.
• Experience implementing approved network changes, including firewall rules, VLANs, VPNs, wireless adjustments, switch ports, and ISP coordination.
• Experience with network monitoring, alerting, configuration backups, documentation platforms, and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with endpoint compliance, access policy enforcement, or security controls affecting network access.
• Ability to mentor Level 1 engineers, improve escalation quality, and contribute to knowledgebase articles, SOPs, and client network documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Own Level 2 network incidents and service requests for assigned managed clients from triage through resolution or escalation.
• Troubleshoot firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, wireless access points, DNS, DHCP, internet circuits, and connectivity issues.
• Support endpoint connectivity, identity-dependent access, and core infrastructure issues that affect network operations.
• Monitor and respond to network alerts, outages, security events, performance issues, and recurring service-impacting trends.
• Implement approved network changes, including firewall rules, VPNs, wireless settings, switch ports, VLANs, and ISP coordination.
• Perform proactive maintenance, configuration reviews, firmware coordination, documentation updates, and client environment health checks.
• Travel to client sites up to 75% of the time for onsite troubleshooting, scheduled support, assessments, projects, and relationship support.
• Assist with network projects such as firewall deployments, switch replacements, wireless improvements, VPN changes, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain accurate ticket notes, diagrams, configuration records, SOPs, knowledgebase articles, and client documentation.
• Support Level 1 escalations and collaborate with senior engineers, project teams, vendors, carriers, and client stakeholders.

Skills:

Key skills include Level 2 network troubleshooting, client communication, escalation judgment, documentation discipline, and the ability to manage multiple service priorities. The role requires practical knowledge of firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networks, DNS, DHCP, internet circuits, endpoint connectivity, identity-dependent access, and core infrastructure dependencies. Preferred strengths include deeper Meraki, Cisco, or similar platform administration; approved network change execution; monitoring and alert response; proactive maintenance; endpoint access policy exposure; Level 1 mentoring; and effective collaboration with senior engineers, vendors, carriers, and client stakeholders. Professionalism, adaptability, and comfort with frequent onsite client travel are essential.
