Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Automation Support)
Location: Walterboro, SC | Hire Type: Direct-hire through MAU for our client | Pay: $30 per hour
Make an immediate impact- Stabilize uptime across batch processing and packaging operations.
- Own troubleshooting for mechanical and basic electrical issues—motors, sensors, and wiring.
- Keep robotics, PLC-driven equipment, and utilities reliable and safe.
- Lead changeovers and start-ups to hit production targets.
- Service and repair: ribbon blenders, kettles, grinders, pellet mills.
- Material movement systems: vacuum conveyance, screw and powered conveyors.
- Packaging systems: bottling lines, form/fill/seal machinery, ultrasonic sealers.
- Basic PLC/automation troubleshooting; coordinate with vendors/internal controls experts for complex issues.
- Maintain dust collection, pressure vessels, and plant utilities/support equipment.
- Inspect and verify safe operation of job cranes and vacuum lifters.
- Safety first: follow OSHA rules, execute LOTO, maintain 5S-level organization.
- Document work, report hazards, and recommend reliability and efficiency improvements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Mechanical troubleshooting strength and basic electrical competency.
- Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Flexibility to work varied hours/shifts; thrive in a fast-paced setting; versatile across equipment types.
- Chemical, plastics, or batch processing experience.
- PLC/automation familiarity.
- Packaging line/form-fill-seal know-how.
- Welding/fabrication exposure.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.; stand/walk/bend as needed.
- Comfort working at heights or in confined spaces.
